Wayne is an Oregon native and Professor Emeritus of English from Clemson University, Clemson, South Carolina, since August 2016, following 25 years teaching, 20 years editing The South Carolina Review, and serving as founding director of Clemson University Press until his retirement. He has authored or edited eleven books since 1991, including Yeats and English Renaissance Literature (1991), Women in the Milieu of Leonard and Virginia Woolf (with J. M. Manson, 1998), The Countess Cathleen: Manuscript Materials (with M. Sidnell, 1999), Yeats’s Collaborations (with W. Gould, 2003), The Dreaming of the Bones and Calvary: Manuscript Materials (2003), The W. B. and George Yeats Library (2006), An Annotated Guide to the Writings and Papers of Leonard Woolf (with J. M. Manson, 2007, 2018), Yeats’s Poetry in the Making (2010), Edward Dowden: A Critical Edition of the Complete Poetry (2010), Rewriting “The Hour-Glass” (2016), and W. B. Yeats’s Robartes-Aherne Writings (2018).
