Phyllis L. Thompson is a nonfiction writer and writing teacher who travels. She has lived and worked in the US, Holland, Mexico, and China and spent six years cruising the Pacific on a sailboat. She writes for magazines and creates interdisciplinary curriculum for universities. She edited the book Dear Alice: Letters Home from American Teachers Learning to Live in China. She likes creating workshops and essays that explore connections among the worlds of nature, art, science, and spirit. Phyllis is currently finalizing a memoir about how the ocean initiated her into the family of life, titled Between Sea and Sky: What I Learned from the Ocean about Life on Earth.
