What’s on your nightstand right now?
Solea by Jean-Claude Izzo—it’s the third book in a really great Mediterranean noir trilogy. I’m also reading The Dance Most of All by Jack Gilbert.
What book made the biggest impression on you as a kid?
Hemingway’s The Sun Also Rises and Giovanni’s Room by James Baldwin.
Tell us about your writing routine. Do you have a favorite time or place to write?
I keep a running list of ideas on my phone, then I write at home or in the coffee shop down the street whenever I have time.
Who’s your muse? Who or what inspires you?
I write a lot about motherhood since having my daughter last year, and I’m also inspired by stories I hear on NPR.
