On your nightstand:

I am finishing The Shadow of Sirius by W. S. Merwin and beginning the anthology Because You Asked: A Book of Answers on the Art & Craft of the Writing Life by Katrina Roberts.

What book(s) made the biggest impression on you as a kid?

I used to read stacks of books every summer.  A Wrinkle In Time by Madeline L’Engle, Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen, Nine Stories by J. D. Salinger, and The Color Purple by Alice Walker are a few of the most influential books I read early on.

What’s your writing routine? Are you an early bird or a night owl?

I am a workweek early bird and weekend night owl.
