Leslie Mills

 

Leslie Mills was born and raised in Kirkland Lake, a gold mining town in Northern Ontario, Canada. At the University of Toronto she trained as a singer and subsequently spent several years in Europe. After moving with her husband to New York City and giving birth to a son, she studied Music Education at the Manhattan School of Music. A specialist in Dalcroze Eurhythmics and Orff Schulwerk, she taught Early Childhood Music for over 25 years before retiring. Leslie and her husband now spend half of each year in New York and the other half in a small fishing village in Nova Scotia. Last year Leslie self-published her first book of poems, Crow. Her work has been published in Avocet, Back Street, Birds’Eye Review, and Eclectic Muse.
