Christy Stevens is a former UPS truck driver, waitress, and whitewater kayaker. She currently teaches at a community college, hikes old growth forests, haunts tide pools, and writes in Corvallis, Oregon.

What book made the biggest impression on you as a kid?
 
The Laura Ingalls Wilder series of books made the greatest impression on me when I was a child. These were the first books I read where I was transported to another time and place. I read these books over and over and in my imagination, I inserted myself as a character in the stories.
 
Besides writing, what’s your passion?
 
My other passions are reading, teaching, and the Oregon Coast.
 
Tell us about your favorite bookstore.
 
My favorite bookstore is the Corvallis Browsers Bookstore. This is my go-to store for trading books for credit. Owner Scott Givens is a hoot and I enjoy talking books with all the staff members. I have discovered many treasures in this used bookstore over the years. They have books and more books!
